Getting started - becoming a private pilot
discovery Flight
A discovery flight is a great way to experience an actual flight with one of our instructors- no commitment required! This includes a 30 minute introduction on the ground, which will answer any questions you may have about flying. Accompanied by a 30 minute flight where you will experience what it is like to be at the controls of an airplane. This flight time can be credited toward your private pilot rating!

Requirements To Start Flight training
Age
-There is not minimum or maximum age to start flight training.
-Under 16 you may only fly with an instructor
-At age 16 you may apply for a student pilot certificate (This allows you to fly solo)
-At age 17 you are eligible for a private pilots certificate.
Education
-No prior education required.
Medical
-Prior to flying solo you must receive an FAA Medical certificate, this is similar to a regular physical from your doctor however it must be accomplished by an FAA approved doctor.
-You may receive a medical with corrective lenses.
